Practice Management
The practice manager is involved in managing all of the business aspects of the practice such as making sure that the right systems are in place to provide a high quality of patient care, human resources, finance, patient safety, premises and equipment and information technology. The practice manager supports the GPs and other medical professionals with delivering patient services and also helps to develop extended services to enhance patient care.

Healthcare Assistants
Frankie, our HCA is currently undertaking his Nurse Associate Degree with Teesside University, he currently undertakes Long Term Condition reviews, wound care and Phlebotomy clinics and will be adding to this as he undertakes more of his training.
Sam is our GP Assistant and undertakes a mixture of clinical and administrative duties to support the Practice Staff, she currently has clinics Tuesdays and Fridays.
Amber is part of our reception team, however she is also a Nurse Associate and will be undertaking some clinics throughout the year to support the team with Long Term Condition reviews and Phlebotomy.
Pharmacy Technician
Kym is our Pharmacy Technician and currently works with us in practice 4 days a week. She supports the surgery staff with drug alerts, medicines managements, audits and our reduction plans.

Reception
Our reception staff are the forefront of our practice and deal with all the incoming calls to the surgery, they are the first point of contact. They are trained to carry out Care Navigation, this includes referrals to the pharmacy, First Contact Practitioner, First Contact Dietitian and the other services we have available. They make all appointments for our GP's Nurses and HCAs, deal with all general enquiries, test results, prescription queries with each and every patient.
The receptionist supervisor’s role is to provide a management function to the reception department, thereby assisting with the smooth running of the practice. She leads the reception team, ensuring an efficient and professional manner is maintained. She is there to provide a focal point of communication between patients, doctors and other medical staff.
Our team comprises Sarah-Jayne (Reception Manager), Amber, Carol, Clare, Claire, Jenn, Judie, Millie, Olivia, Rebecca, Sam and Sophie.
Community Midwives
Ante-natal clinics are now ran centrally either at James Cook or Low Grange Health Village. For advice needed out of these hours please contact James Cook University Hospital on 01642 850850 and ask for the Community Midwife Team or the Maternity Day Unit for advice. These details should be on your handheld Maternity records. To book in with mid-wife. Please call The Primrose team at James Cook on 01642 854880 or email:- stees.cmwpinkteam@nhs.net. First Contact Practitioner
Our FCP, Chris is now based with us in Practice on Tuesday's, he is available to book appointments for MSK and Joint problems, he can assess, send for ongoing scans, referrals and advice. Chris is also a prescriber so can prescribe any medication he feels may be needed to support your recovery.
Mental Health Practitioners
Liz and Jess are both part of Greater Middlesbrough PCN Roles that work within the surgery to support our patients with their Mental Health needs. Jess is available on Tuesday and Liz on Friday. They also have slots available in other locations throughout the week that we can book. Appointments with either of the staff can be booked via reception, you do not need to be referred.
Children & Young Person Mental Health Practitioner
Ricki is our CYPMHP and works from within the Health Village at North Ormesby, she can support children and their families who are having ongoing difficulties around mental health, sleep, anxiety and behaviour. She can offer advice around ADHD and Autism and the Right to Choose, however she cannot expedite or refer directly herself, but she will support whilst awaiting diagnosis. Her appointments are bookable via our reception team.
GP Registrars
Speciality GP Training takes 3 years. Within the first 2 years these doctors work between GP surgeries and hospitals and in their 3rd year they return to the surgery for the full year. At the end of the 3 years they will be a fully fledged GP.
Foundation Stage Doctors
Following graduation, these students are Doctors and will move to an integrated two-year programme to practice in the UK. This program serves as a crucial bridge between their medical training and their speciality. It is specifically designed to equip these doctors with defined practical skills and competencies, as well as a solid understanding of how to manage acutely ill patients.
Medical Students
We have associations with Newcastle and Sunderland Universities and take students in their Medical Training from Years 1 to 5 and Physician Associates in Year 1 and 2 of their training.
