Practice Management
The practice manager is involved in managing all of the business aspects of the practice such as making sure that the right systems are in place to provide a high quality of patient care, human resources, finance, patient safety, premises and equipment and information technology. The practice manager supports the GPs and other medical professionals with delivering patient services and also helps to develop extended services to enhance patient care.
Reception
Our reception staff are the forefront of our practice and deal with all the incoming calls to the surgery, they are the first point of contact. They are trained to carry out Care Navigation, this includes referrals to the pharmacy, First Contact Practitioner, First Contact Dietitian and the other services we have available. They make all appointments for our GP's Nurses and HCAs, deal with all general enquiries, test results, prescription queries with each and every patient.
The receptionist supervisor’s role is to provide a management function to the reception department, thereby assisting with the smooth running of the practice. She leads the reception team, ensuring an efficient and professional manner is maintained. She is there to provide a focal point of communication between patients, doctors and other medical staff.
Our team comprises Sarah (Reception Manager), Carol, Claire, Ellie, Fiona, Imogen, Judie, Kia, Libby, Rebecca, Sam and Shyanne.
Community Midwives
Ante-natal clinics are run twice weekly by our community midwife. For advice needed out of these hours please contact James Cook University Hospital on 01642 850850 and ask for the Community Midwife Team or the Maternity Day Unit for advice.
